python-scapy software package provides Packet generator/sniffer and network scanner/discovery, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-scapy
python-scapy is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-scapy package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-scapy *
You will get with python-scapy package name, version, architecture and description in a table
